Meet Our New Look for The next 50 years!
The Dreadnought Centre has been supporting young people across Cornwall for 50 years. This momentous milestone is a testament to the profound impact our work has had, equipping thousands of young people with the tools needed to navigate the complexities of their world. To celebrate this legacy and prepare for our next 50 years, we are updating our look and identity.
Our commitment has always been to put young people at the centre of everything we do; they drive every decision we make as a charity. To better reflect this focus, we have simplified our name to just Dreadnought. By removing "Centre" from our name, we are emphasising that the young person is the core focus, not a physical location. Given that we work across all of Cornwall, taking support to where it is needed most, tying ourselves to a fixed location felt counterintuitive.
We’ve partnered with Unfold Studio (based in Krowji) to refresh our logo and branding as we step into our next chapter and look toward the future.
The new Dreadnought logo holds within the shape of the 'D' a story of our work and the creative way we go about it. Children and young people, as well as Dreadnought, take the form of drops of ink. When a young person is referred to and involved in Dreadnought (a drop of ink "Dropped Into Dreadnought"), the inks mix and expand. Through that partnership, we see how the young people grow outwards in confidence, creating something new and beautiful. The resulting ink creation speaks of the young person thriving and ready to make their mark on the world.
This journey of growth is why our new logo is intentionally dynamic and is available in a variety of ink mixes. This allows us to show the fun and creativity central to how Dreadnought operates, as well as the unique stories of lives transformed. You will see it appear in different colour combinations and placements, a visual reflection of every young person's individuality and unlimited potential.
We are excited to roll out this new brand identity over the coming months. We are also currently working on a new website, which will be released in the new year at www.dreadnoughtcornwall.co.uk. With this launch, our email addresses will also update, but rest assured, any messages sent to our old addresses will still be received.
Critically, our services and support remain consistent. We will continue to offer:
One-to-One Provision: Provided by our dedicated team of qualified counsellors.
Dreadnought Aspires: Our popular and long-standing group project for young people with an ASC diagnosis.
School Group Projects: Successful programs focusing on friendships, social skills, and confidence.
Dreadnought Kernow Connect: Our targeted counselling support.
We remain committed to meeting the specific needs of the young people who seek our support. Please continue to get in touch if you have any questions or require specific assistance.
