The Hot Spot Project

The Hotspot Project is for children and young people, aged 8 – 19 years, who may have come to the notice of any statutory agency, or member of the public, including mums, dads, grandparents, carers or neighbours, in connection with fire related activities.

This could range from malicious or hoax 999 calls through to costly and life threatening arson.

The aim is to initiate change to address problems in the young person's life, enabling them to make informed choices.

What does Hot Spot Offer?

• Information
• Counselling
• Fire Safety Awareness in the Home
• One-to-one work
• Groupwork to explore fire related issues
• The opportunity to meet fire-fighters who can pass on first hand experience of the destructive nature of fire
• The opportunity to make changes

This service is FREE. It is funded by the Cornwall & Isles of Scilly Primary Care Trust until 31st March 2010.

If further support is recommended a referral can be made on behalf of the young person to Dreadnought’s 12 week structured Fire Awareness Programme.
